Keeps orange fresh!!

"I've been using this for years now to help keep my orange hair from fading as quickly. It does make my brighter orange shift over to a more natural redhead color after a few washes, but I love it because it makes any fading that does happen look intentional. A staple in my hair care routine!"

Color me impressed!

"When Hayley went red back in the early aughts, so did I, and I never looked back. Over the years I’ve been pretty much every shade of red, orange, and copper. I’ve been getting my hair dyed professionally for the last 10 or so and have doing an 8RS from a popular Italian line for about as long. Reds are tough in general. The pigment molecules are huge and chemically less stable than most other colors, which makes even the best reds fade faster and makes them higher maintenance—especially in the summer when there’s higher chance of sun fading and other chemical and environmental factors. I’ve tried SO many color depositing conditioners as an interim solution between monthly salon visits over the years. Most of them have either not deposited color, or have muddied my color horribly, and my favorites have of course been rapidly discontinued. But I can definitely say that this product is my new favorite, and I’ll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it isn’t discontinued any time soon. I have no idea why it took me so long to try this, but I am SO glad I did! The Pros: It’s very affordable for what it is, and applies like a dream. I have never used a color depositing conditioner that was as easy to work with as this product, and the smoothing, shine, and dimension it provides!—HOLY MOLY! My flabbers were ghasted! This is not just a color depositing conditioner, this is an excellent deep conditioning mask/treatment as well. It also provides a fairly good match as a refresh for my regular dye color. The Cons: Honestly, there don’t seem to be any significant problems with this product, but I will say this: This is definitely a trust the process product. I was so off put by the color I saw when I first opened the tube. My first thought was yikes, this must be oxidized as heck! It also made my hair feel very straw-like when I was first washing it out, which was equally off putting. Don’t let this or the muddy appearance of the product scare you. It does deposit much more copper/orange than it appears it will, and the texture weirdness dissipates as it’s fully rinsed out. Grey coverage seems to be nonexistent, but grey is generally more difficult to cover (and honestly, no coverage is preferable to hot flaming neon patches in place of grey, unless that’s what you’re aiming for). For someone with tiny amount of grey growing out at the roots, it’s certainly not a dealbreaker. 10 minutes does seem to offer reasonable color deposit, but I found I experienced the best results after about an hour. Overall, this seems to be an insanely good product and I would absolutely recommend it and will definitely be purchasing it again."

Put on Dry Hair Instead

"Works great when you put onto dry hair! When I put it on in the shower it didn’t do anything."

Sara (4/5)

"Was suppose to be bright, fantasy copper/orange. It is dark brown copper."

Dyeposit

"I love the thick, hair masque texture. It also smells like a hair masque and not like hair dye. Another GDY product I love. Ps. Please bring back the "No Bad Hair Days" dad hat. ♡"

Q&A

Do you not sell the blue dyeposit anymore?
Hi Bailey, We're currently out of stock of Blue DYEposit. If you want to touch up or maintain blue without re-dyeing, you could mix your preferred blue semi-perm and Rinse as a color depositing conditioner.
Hi GDY Team! I'm currently rocking the ruin blue color but I'm thinking of getting Peach Buzz and Pink Puff mix next once current color fades out. Would Copper DYEposit help maintain that tone or should I go with Champagne? Also, how many uses could I get out of DYEposit if I have short hair? Thanks!
Hi Diego, To maintain a peach tone, our expert stylist recommends pink and copper DYEposit mixed together. You could even dilute further with some Rinse conditioner. Since your hair is short, you would get 4-5 uses out of one bottle, if you're mixing two shades, it would be about 8-10 uses.
I’ve been dyeing my hair with riot all year (and absolutely loving it), but due to medicated shampoo it’s been fading a tad quicker. Would this be a good refresher for that shade?
Hi Cheyenne, Copper DYEposit is the perfect upkeep for Riot in between dyes. We recommend using it once a week as a deep conditioner and to refresh your color. Team GDY
i have bleached platinum hair at the moment and am thinking of trying copper, but don’t want to over-commit. would this leave previously bleached hair stained or would it fade back to platinum in time?
Hi em, Thank you for reaching out, and for telling us a bit about your hair and goals. While DYEposit contains a lighter pigment load than our semi-permanent hair dyes, you will still see a copper tone to your hair when applying Copper DYEposit to platinum hair. If you are wanting to return to platinum, you would need to use a a color remover or lightener to make that happen. Please email us at help@gooddyeyoung.com and we'll be happy to chat more! Thank you, Team GDY
Hi! I’m wondering if it’s okay to mix the Dyeposit’s together ex: Copper and Red? Thanks!
Hi Ellie, Yes, it's safe to mix DYEposit shades together to create a custom color. Experiment with the amounts of each shade and test on a few sections of your hair. Let us know if you have any other questions!
