How To Use Ingredients

To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.
Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.
Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.

This is THE ONE for green girlies

"I have been using the shade "devil's ivy" for the past year and a half, with amazing results. I saw this iced matcha shade and decided to give it a shot and I will not turn back. I did have a light base left of the original devil's ivy shade, but ultimately was using the color over a level 9 lift. I cannot get over how perfect this shade turned out. *** I highly recommend leaving this shade on for at least 2 hours on clean hair with a cap on. I did use 2/3 of the product provided to get good saturation. Rinse with COLD water. Not warm, not kinda cold. It needs to be ICE COLD. If you want your color to last you need to wash with a color-safe shampoo and use cold water only on your hair. ******"

my go-to brand

"GDY is my go-to brand when dyeing my hair. I love the smell, texture, and packaging. The thicker dye makes sectioning and designs so much easier than dyeing with thinner dyes (also less likelihood of it dripping/spilling onto the floor, counter, etc. ). GDY sticks best to my hair, so I don't have to constantly retouch. I really like the bleach too, it's not thin which makes application so much easier. I've seen people mention wanting jumbo sizes of the dyes which I'm totally down for too. I truly am a big fan of the brand and I feel like I have the most predictable outcome when using it."

Lovely muted green

"I actually tried this color by accident since I originally ordered a tube of Devil's Ivy, but received Iced Matcha instead. That said, I really like this green! It doesn't last super long but can be refreshed easily with the Platinum Dyeposit toner. I've just re-applied the dye after about 3 weeks I failed to lighten my hair evenly (first time I've done it) so the green isn't super obvious in some places. On hair that's around level 8 or below, the green turns into more of a khaki, cool brown type color. I don't mind it but be sure to lighten your hair really thoroughly if you want to see green."
