How To Use Ingredients

To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.
Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.
Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.

"GDY is my go-to brand when dyeing my hair. I love the smell, texture, and packaging. The thicker dye makes sectioning and designs so much easier than dyeing with thinner dyes (also less likelihood of it dripping/spilling onto the floor, counter, etc. ). GDY sticks best to my hair, so I don't have to constantly retouch. I really like the bleach too, it's not thin which makes application so much easier. I've seen people mention wanting jumbo sizes of the dyes which I'm totally down for too. I truly am a big fan of the brand and I feel like I have the most predictable outcome when using it."

"Honestly the lightener was super easy to use. However it lifted multiple different colors. I did previously have red on my hair so I knew that was a risk. However when I added the color it hardly deposited. It’s still mostly blonde and peach with a green tint :/"

Lovely muted green

"I actually tried this color by accident since I originally ordered a tube of Devil's Ivy, but received Iced Matcha instead. That said, I really like this green! It doesn't last super long but can be refreshed easily with the Platinum Dyeposit toner. I've just re-applied the dye after about 3 weeks I failed to lighten my hair evenly (first time I've done it) so the green isn't super obvious in some places. On hair that's around level 8 or below, the green turns into more of a khaki, cool brown type color. I don't mind it but be sure to lighten your hair really thoroughly if you want to see green."
