BEFORE & AFTERS

Level 10

The perfect base for the most vibrant and long-lasting results!

Level 9

Toxicity can easily cover the yellow tones present in level 9 hair.

Level 8

Expect a more muted copper when you put Toxicity over level 8 hair.

Level 7

Toxicity may add a slight copper tint to level 7 hair, and will wash out faster.

  1. To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.

  2. Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.

  3. Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.

  4. Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.

  5. Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Rinse with cool water.

  • To maximize the vibrancy of your newly semi-permanent dyed hair, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before your first shampoo. To minimize fading over time, rinse your hair with cool water each time you wash. Also, try reducing your hair washing days to extend the color even further.

Not worth it for the price

"Love the color, but it’s turned out somewhat patchy both times I’ve used it now and fully faded in less than two weeks. I bought this because I was looking for an alternative to Arctic Fox Ginger Flare (which can also be kind of patchy but doesn’t fade as quickly), but I’m definitely going back to Ginger Flare after I run out of Toxicity :/"

Beautiful color

"Didn’t want a neon orange and this color looks perfect. It washes out quicker than I would hope for but that’s the price you pay for vivid colors and not doing 100% cold showers!"

Sara (4/5)

Amazing!

"The color is exactly what I wanted and it made my hair so smooth! Usually dye makes my hair feel dry but not this one!"

"I love this stuff! Smells great and perfect color !"

Color didnt deposit well

"I've used Riot multiple times and its always shown up super vibrant even when my hair was level 4 medium brown. I've since lightened my hair significantly and have been using Prevana Bright Orange recently. Went swimming and it faded pretty bad. . . tried to use Toxicity while i wait for my Riot order to be delivered and it did not measure up. I left it on for an hour and couldn't really see a difference. The photo honestly makes it look way better than it does in person."

Color

"Very vibrant but not overly bright, very cute. Looks good when mixed together with Riot!"

Grace M. (5/5)

Amazing Color Variety!

"I absolutely love how the colors show up in the hair! They're so vivid and I always get so many compliments. I also love the formula, and all the colors I've tried have smelled amazing. The only downside I see if that the colors fade rather quickly, even when washing with cold water. This can be supplemented with GDY's color depositing conditioners to keep color fresh, but I don't entirely mind fading because I love changing my color often. I love this brand!"

"Beautiful copper tone!"

Go to vibrant orange

"This has been my go-to color for years and has never let me down. It’s a perfect vibrant orange that takes forever to fade when using proper colored hair care! I swear it takes about 2-3 months before I see that it is starting to fade! Absolutely my favorite color from good dye young!"

Jayla S. (5/5)

Highly recommend

"I did a mix of toxicity and all in this together and absolutely loveeee how it looks in the daylight and in darker lighting! Didn’t stain my neck or anything super crazy just my hands (I don’t wear gloves) no skin irritation and have been recommending to my friends that dye their hair fun colors. The smell as well doesn’t smell chemically and didn’t burn or anything and I have super sensitive skin and scalp :)"

Q&A

What result would I get if I put this over very light pink hair? I had used X Girl on my Level 10 bleached hair. It’s now faded a lot but it’s still pink.
Thanks for reaching out. The results will be pretty true to Toxicity tone, with a slight pink undertone. As the dye fades over time, the pink will start to show through quite a bit into a soft coral.
I bought a box this week from Sally’s beauty and compared to the the little bit I had left from a previous bottle. You wouldn’t be able to tell they’re the same dye. The new bottle has to pigment in it at all. Did the formula change?
Hi Amanda, Thank you for reaching out. We'd love to help you, and need a little more info. Please email help@gooddyeyoung.com with the batch code of both tubes (stamped into the top of the tube crimp, back). Thank you, Team GDY
I got this dye from sally beauty and when I opened it the dye had so pigment and was just sparkly. I’m wondering if there was a bad batch.
Hi Lilli, Thank you for reaching out. Please send us the batch code and an image to help@gooddyeyoung.com and our team can review the tube virtually for our recommendation. Thanks, Team GDY
Will one box be enough for a shoulder length hair?
Depending on the thickness and porosity of your hair, shoulder-length hair probably will require two boxes
How much do you use? Just a bit? The whole tube?
The best way to apply our dyes is to section your hair into at least 4-5 sections. Using a brush applicator (the Good Dye Young Tool Kit is perfect for this) slowing work in the dye, making sure to evenly and thoroughly cover the entire area you want dyed. Don't be afraid to use your gloved fingers and to go over each section more than once. Be generous.
