How To Use Ingredients

To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.
Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.
Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.

"The bottles are smaller than the regular bottle size, the color is great though. I like that it covers my bleaching mistakes cause I’m doing it all on my own at home. So it’s my go to color and I plan on keeping it this color. Also, my curls are always so bouncy after I dye it with GDY. It’s not drying at all."

great deal for short hair

"This green is freshhhhh!! Before dyeing I had medium-thick, straight, light brown hair. I used the GDY Lightening Kit for 15 minutes, washed, and let it finish processing for another two hours before dyeing. I have very short hair so one of these bottles was the perfect amount for full coverage and now I have two bottles for refresh. Great deal and very happy with the results! Depending on the lighting it looks blue or yellow toned, but it is always vibrant shining green. Thanks GDY!"

Safe color for my damaged hair

"After regrowing my hair from a full shave almost two years ago, I went from platinum to partially blue, then got a job interview and nervously covered it up with a dark brown on almost my whole head. Finally accepting that I just don't feel genuine with natural colors; I went to lighten my hair to begin experimenting again. In the process I used a bleach powder I was unfamiliar with and for the first time in about 15 years I completely fried my hair. It was coming out in chunks in the shower and so much of it broke off I went back to a shorter cut. After this I thought I wouldn't be able to express myself for an extended period of time, until taking the leap to use GDY. I was confident from past use that it would nourish instead of further damage my hair. After carefully using the lightening kit on my roots, Narwhal on the top, and a bottom layer halo of Kowabunga - I'm so happy to report it did no further damage to my hair and it's even feeling softer than before! GDY is really a lifeline to continue genuinely expressing myself even after making some big hair mis-steps. Thank you for committing to such a high quality product!"
