How To Use Pro Tips Ingredients

To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.
Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.
Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.
Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.
Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.
Rinse with cool water.

To maximize the vibrancy of your newly semi-permanent dyed hair, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before your first shampoo. To minimize fading over time, rinse your hair with cool water each time you wash. Also, try reducing your hair washing days to extend the color even further.

Finally! A green I can live with

"I love olive greens, but all the green hair colors only seemed to have more blue-leaning tones. So I was delighted to find Devil’s Ivy. My natural color is mostly bright silver (strands are actually clear), blending to medium brown at the nape. Application was easy enough, and I let it sit for an hour before rinsing. A little tough to rinse out, had some color on my towel after. I’ll be wearing a cotton beanie to bed just in case. Love the color! It’s very bright, with lots of shine. I would suggest a larger type on the directions or more contrast between the text and background, as it’s rather squinty."

"I purchased Earthworm for my base. I normally have light brown hair, level 6. I applied Earthworm directly to my natural hair and ended up with a beautiful chocolatey-red brown. "I’ve used GDY before so I kinda figured it was a user error immediately but I will say: make sure your dye isn’t super cold when you use it. I applied it right after bringing it inside from 21° F weather and it decreased the efficacy drastically. Reapplied the next day and it worked perfectly, so would highly recommend giving it an hour or so to warm up lol"

"In my swim era, this shade doesn’t fade as much as I thought it would. It also holds up pretty well, if you are trying to color over it you can try using magenta, it will work but your hair will be magenta."
