BEFORE & AFTERS

Level 10

The perfect base for the most vibrant and long-lasting results!

Level 9

Move Mountains can easily cover the yellow tones present in level 9 hair.

Level 8

Expect a very dark green, almost black when applied to level 8 hair.

Level 7

Move Mountains may add a slight dark green tint to brown hair, and will neutralize any red tones in brown hair.

  1. To create the best blank canvas for your color, we recommend that you first lighten your hair with our easy-to-use GDY Lightening Kit. Our semi-perms work best over pre-lightened hair, levels 7-10. Please refer to individual colors for the best starting level.

  2. Squeeze your color into a plastic bowl. Remember: wear gloves to prevent staining on your hands.

  3. Do a strand test before applying the color all over your hair to ensure you love the look.

  4. Divide your hair into 4 equal sections and apply dye directly onto dry hair with a color brush or your fingers. Make sure the color is fully saturated throughout each section by applying a dollop of color for every two inch portion of your hair. Gently emulsify/massage into the hair to ensure coverage.

  5. Let the color sit on your hair for at least 30 minutes.

  6. Rinse with cool water.

  • To maximize the vibrancy of your newly semi-permanent dyed hair, we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before your first shampoo. To minimize fading over time, rinse your hair with cool water each time you wash. Also, try reducing your hair washing days to extend the color even further.
  • We recommend pre-lightening your hair to a level 10 platinum blonde for the truest results, but Move Mountains works great on levels 8+.
  • If your hair lifts to a yellow shade, you don’t need to worry about toning before applying Move Mountains. It’s dark enough to cover the remaining yellow tones up.

Prepare to be a chameleon

"Used this on my face-framing/money pieces, everything else is a nice, lighter purple. Started out a gorgeous dark green. Washed once, became more of a blue-y green. Second wash, very blue. Now 4/5 washes in it is electric blue in most locations, with a few strands that are almost a seafoam-y color. It's not bad by any means, and I'm real happy that all the colors it's changed have stayed a nice contrast to the purple on the rest of my hair, but overall it just wasn't quite what I was expecting or looking for color wise. I'm not sure how long I could have really classified the color as teal, it pretty much just went from very green to very blue."

Love it!

"First time ever dying my hair, and I LOVE this color! Mixed a little Blue Ruin with it for the under growth to add a little variety. This will be my go-to color from now on!"

beware of staining

"I really love the vibrancy of the color. But i've been having issues with staining. Even almost two weeks later and 4 washes, its still staining my face/neck/clothes/pillowcases/etc pretty intensely. I'm pretty good at dyeing my hair at home, am experienced with semi-permanent dyes, and watched/followed the tutorials on this site/the directions to a TEE and i've never experienced staining this bad before! It's driving me crazy, might have to go to a salon to see if they can do anything about it."

alex (3/5)

Closer to teal

"It’s a little more blue than I was anticipating, but I still really liked the look. In the future, to achieve a darker/richer green, I will apply on a darker base."
