We’re on the road with GDY Co-Founders Brian O’Connor and Hayley Williams as they make their way through “The Hayley Williams Show” tour, which kicked off at the beginning of September in Florida. Since then, we’ve been to Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, and last but not least, New York. Our beloved city that never sleeps gave us an iconic moment on stage that officially made Hayley Williams history.
At the night 2 show at Forest Hills Stadium, GDY stan and bestie Rico Nasty joined Hayley on stage for the encore to perform “Airplanes” for the first time in sixteen years. Hayley had never had the opportunity to perform the iconic 2010 song since it was released… until this moment. Rico Nasty and Magdalena Bay are supporting Hayley on stage to open for her shows in North America, so you won’t want to miss the opportunity to see more magic like this in the future. To add some dimension to Hayley’s look, Brian alternated sections of Hayley’s hair to leave some of her existing blonde and natural roots untouched. On Hayley’s blonde sections, Brian used GDY Rinse to boost moisture and shine. On Hayley’s darker sections, Brian mixed GDY Rinse with KO to fill any blonde underneath. Finally, Brian layered Chocolate DYEposit over these sections to create a rich brunette tone. Paired with K18’s AirWash Dry Shampoo and Briogeo’s Yuzu + Plum Oil Sleek Stick to style, the result is a very grungy, Y2K-inspired brunette and blonde look created with patchwork extensions and chunky alternating sections.
