So you're ready to lighten your hair at home? Here are some tools you're going to want to have on hand.

Gloves: You always want to wear gloves when working with lightener as it can cause skin irritation

Non-Metallic Bowl: Metal can actually interfere with the chemical reaction happening in your lightning mix, so we want to avoid that. You can use a plastic, ceramic, or glass bowl.

Brush: A brush is going to make precise application a lot easier.

Clips: These are alligator clips. They're going to help with sectioning and keeping things neater by keeping the hair you're not working on out of the way.

Foils: You can buy pre-sized hair foils, you can also use aluminum foil from your kitchen. Either way, foil is going to do 2 main things: it’s going to keep your lightener from drying out. Once the lightener dries out, it stops working. And it is going to create heat, which makes Lightner work more effectively and faster. If you don't have foils, you can also use plastic wrap or a processing cap blasting cap.
