Next stop on “The Hayley Williams Show” Tour? The iconic Hollywood Bowl!
This October, our very own Hayley Williams made her way over to the west coast. In the city of bright lights and big dreams, Hayley truly made all of our dreams come true when she brought out two surprise guests to join her on stage. Just like her special treat from the Forest Hills show in September, Hayley brought out her opener Rico Nasty to perform “Airplanes” together. Once we emotionally recovered from that transformative experience, Hayley then invited Zedd to accompany her on piano to play “Stay the Night” for the first time in 12 years. Needless to say, the Forest Hills crowd is maybe feeling just a little bit jealous. But we love you, New York!
Speaking of transformative experiences, Hayley debuted a new take on her tour look. As always, we’re excited to share the backstage details from her longtime hair stylist and MUA, Brian O’Connor. Plug into our exclusive scoop below!
To add some fun details to Hayley’s look, Brian clipped some camouflage-inspired extensions into Hayley’s hair. Hayley’s base look features alternated sections of gingery brunette and blonde, with untouched natural roots. As always, Brian used GDY Rinse on Hayley’s blonde sections to boost moisture and shine. To achieve Hayley’s darker sections, Brian mixed GDY Rinse with KO. Finally, Brian layered Chocolate DYEposit over these sections to create a rich brunette tone.
Now that we’ve got the brown tones of the camouflage covered, let’s get to the green and black. Brian used both Devil’s Ivy and Iced Matcha to create green camo patchwork on blonde extensions. Then, Brian color-blocked brunette extensions with GDY’s new Black DYEposit to create a raccoon tail effect. This is the kind of camo that doesn’t blend in — it peeks beautifully through every hairflip and headbang.
