Meet the community behind the color. To celebrate 10 years of Good Dye Young, we put out a casting call on social media and invited our community to help us tell our story. In less than 24 hours, more than 500 people applied to be part of our Decade of Dye campaign. From those submissions, we selected 8 community members to represent the 8 original shades that launched GDY back in 2016.

Meet Charlotte, wearing Riot.

What does community mean to you?
“Freedom of acceptance"
We couldn’t agree more, Charlotte! It's a sentiment that feels especially fitting as we celebrate ten years of color, creativity, and connection.
Why Riot?
Charlotte is wearing Riot, one of the eight OG shades that launched Good Dye Young in 2016.
Bold, vibrant, and unmistakably iconic, Riot has remained a major part of GDY history and a community favorite for a reason.
The Story Behind the Shade: Riot

Like every original GDY shade name, Riot came from the creative world Hayley and Brian were building when they launched the brand, drawing inspiration from the films, music, pop culture references, and the stories they loved.
When Good Dye Young launched in 2016, Riot was one of the first shades that Hayley and Brian wanted to package in a tube and share with you all. This red-based neon orange is the brand's cornerstone. The name and color are a direct reference to Paramore's breakout 2007 album, Riot!, and the iconic fiery orange hair Hayley Williams wore during that era.
Ten years later, it's still one of the most recognizable colors in the GDY lineup.
