For Pride Month, symbols like the Pride flag and rainbow vivid colors have always been at the forefront of the movement.
These symbols represent the queer community in a big way, so having Good Dye Young be a rainbow of vivid colors has always been really important to me.
Growing up, I was always ashamed of who I knew I really was internally. There was a lot of shame that came with that. I felt like I could never be enough, in whatever capacity that meant
For me, vivid color — especially in the rainbow sense — has always been a way for me to come to terms with who I am, to be enough, and to know that I am enough.
It’s always been important for me to show the world how bold and bright and large I can be, really.
Using color made me come full circle with who I was, and knock off that shame. I could enter a room and say “Take it or leave it! If you can’t accept me as I am, it has nothing to do with me and everything to do with you. That is your problem and not mine!”
I am bright, and there is so much more to me than that!
It was really important for me that Good Dye Young could offer a creative community and space for people to express themselves safely and with confidence. Everyone deserves to be bright, bold, and vibrantly you.
This Pride Month, I will be experimenting and playing with new colors all throughout the month of June using One Night Only. I would love it for you to join me in wearing your colors with pride, whatever that may look like.
