Decade of Dye
Built on friendship. Powered by professional artistry. Shaped by our community.
In 2016, Hayley Williams & Brian O’Connor started Good Dye Young together as friends and longtime collaborators — not knowing it would become a global community and movement of color and creativity.
Join us as we celebrate 10 years of self-expression, experimentation, and evolution, shared with every single one of you.

We launched with these iconic shades 10 years ago and here's how our community is styling them today.
She/Her, wearing Ex-Girl
Ramona is a photographer who grew up in China and now lives in New York. She has been dyeing her hair for three years.
For Ramona, community simply means "showing up."
They/Them, wearing PPL Eater
Born and raised in NYC, Melika is a music producer, DJ, and singer. They see hair color as a powerful catalyst to embody new identities and explore different facets of their personality.
For Melika, community is about "being held and holding others."
She/Her, wearing Riot
Charlotte is a video editor and social media creative who has been coloring her hair on and off for six years.
For her, Good Dye Young represents "community and acceptance," and she believes that community is ultimately about the "freedom of expression."
He/Him, wearing Blue Ruin
A photographer from Kansas City, Trey has been coloring his hair since middle school. Vibrant hair is a core part of his identity that allows him to express himself without words.
For Trey, community is about "finding people that embrace your truest self and celebrating each other's spirit."
She/Her, wearing Rock Lobster
Curstin works in creative marketing and has been coloring her hair for over five years. Growing up, she wasn't allowed to dye her hair, so now she draws inspiration from childhood cartoons to create her vibrant looks.
She believes community is everything, stating, "I wouldn't be who I am without my communities."
They/Them, wearing Kowabunga
Janice is a freelance makeup artist and model based in NYC. A true multi-hyphenate creative, they also draw and play the violin. For Janice, their green hair is more than a color. It’s a representation of their aura and a symbol of renewal.
Passionate about organizing community events, they see community as a source of "unified connection, mutual care, and power."
She/Her, wearing Steal My Sunshine
Allie is a 26-year-old social media manager, content creator, and artist in NYC. For Allie, coloring her hair is a staple of her look and a way of "healing my inner child who wanted to look like Hayley Williams."
Allie believes community is everything—a chosen family where she can have fun, share her hobbies, and find support.
She/Her, wearing Narwhal
Brooke is a writer, comedian, and photographer living in Bushwick who has been known as "the girl with blue hair" for years. "As a feminine queer person I didn’t know where I fit in until I started experimenting with my hair," she says.
For Brooke, hair color is an integral part of her identity and her community is her family.
Ten years ago, Hayley & Brian dreamed of having the community that Good Dye Young is today. As longtime friends and creative collaborators, bold concert looks turned into even bigger ideas. Before they knew it, they were building a global network of pro stylists, artists, and really cool people who inspire them with their creativity every single day.
