It dries so quickly. It felt like I was putting clay in my hair. Once I finished applying it my hair was a chalky mess. I was really excited to try it but now I wish I would have just bought the semi permanent hair dye.

I am really enjoying this product. The Blue Ruin color is great! It’s fun, bright and is perfect for my hair style. One thing I have noticed is that it does not blend well with other moisturizing products. I’m Black and I have thick, coiled hair and moisturizing is a MUST; so sometimes my coconut/castor oil mixed with the poser paste create flakes. So if you are a POC or you have hair texture that needs oils/hair lotion often, be advised! I noticed that using lighter amounts of oil when styling my hair doesn’t make the dye flake as much. Overall I highly recommend and I will continue having fun with it 🙂

Didn’t wash off my hands easily like it says it will.
I spent 15 minutes washing my hands and scrubbing them.

Had to ultrasonic clean my wedding ring just to get it off
Makes your hair unmanageable and unstylable.
For $26 after shipping I’m really really reaaaally disappointed.

I love you Hayley but this product needs a revamp.

      Hey Katy!
We’re sorry you had a negative experience with Poser Paste. Poser Paste is a wax-based product, and we recommend “exfoliating” type shampoos and soaps to fully remove. Let us know if there’s anything we can do to help!

I absolutely love this product! It is easy to apply and if you comb it out after blow drying it looks like hair dye. I usually can wear it for about 3-4 days before washing it out.The only thing I would recommend for other people is to scrub the colored hair and let the soap sit a minute before rinsing out. I will definitely be buying poser paste again.

The blue stays for a while but I mean the longer the better! I have bleach blonde hair so my hair type picks up color Very easily. Love it ?

It took me 10 washes to get this out of my hair! After the first wash, it left it all greasy and residue-y. Otherwise, showed up good in my dark brown hair.

I really like the idea for this product 🙂 the only issue I have with it is how hard and crusty it makes your hair. I bought this shade and it’s probably the best one for people with dark hair. I wish the formula was a little different so it could go/stay on the hair a little smoother. I also do wish that once the paste sets (has been brushed out and styled) it wouldn’t flake off :/ anytime I touch my hair, it flakes EVERYWHERE. This product is great in theory and such, but I’d really like it if the formula were different.

This product worked really nice for me! I have more of a medium shade of brown hair, and putting this into my bangs worked really well for me – it’s buildable and easy to wash out at the end of the day. I love this product!

I was so excited about the release of this line that I bought it almost immediately! Boy, was I disappointed! I have long thick hair and I am used to having to spend a long time styling but Lord! I spent an hour and a half working this through just a few strands of my hair and it didn’t even show up well! The closest comparison I can think of for its texture is play-doh. And it made the same sort of play-doh mess all over my bathroom. It did wash off my skin pretty easily with soap. Overall, I really did not like this product.

From day one, Brian and I listed Clementine from the movie Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind as an inspiration for some of our shades. When her character is first introduced, she talks mostly of her hair, which is dyed – rather unevenly (haha) – a bold blue… “It’s called ‘Blue Ruin’. Snappy name right?” – Hayley

HOW TO APPLY
1. Take a small amount out of the jar, rub fingers together, and apply the color to clean, dry hair.
2. Start small and build up the color until you achieve the vibrancy you want. Color can be used as an accent on the ends, to paint sections of a braid, to slick back a ponytail, or to color the entire head…the only limit is your imagination.
3. The product dries quickly, so work in small sections. To tone down the color and achieve a more ‘natural’ look, brush it out right away. Otherwise, style as you apply until your heart’s content. Heat tools are fine once the product dries.
4. Wear the color as long as you want and wash it when you’re over it with your favorite shampoo. Note that you may need to shampoo more than once to fully remove the product, depending on how much you apply.

ARTISTRY TIPS

  • Consider the color of your hair when choosing a shade, as it may impact the undertone of your Poser Paste.
  • The colors mix well together. Get creative to make your own custom shade.
  • If you can’t choose just one shade, try some color blocking by using different shades on different sections of the hair.
  • BTW, this works beautifully on curly hair: scrunch it into your hair like curl cream to maintain the shape of your ringlets.

HOW TO REMOVE

  • Wet your hair and shampoo like normal. You may need to shampoo more than once to fully remove all of your Poser Paste, depending on how much you applied.
  • If color gets on your clothes, wait until it dries and use a lint roller to remove.
  • To clean your brush or comb, use makeup remover wipes to break down the product and then rinse with warm water.
  • Clean color from your hands with soap and warm water. Baby or makeup remover wipes work well if you’re on the go.
